How Gayo Arabica is graded, from defect count to screen size

Grade 1 allows at most 11 defects in a 300 gram sample. Here is how that count is made and what it means in the cup.

What buyers should know

Supply, quality and freight move together. When one of them changes at origin, it usually shows up in offers two to four weeks later, so it pays to ask early and to fix the specification in writing.
